Welcome to the Newcastle University Choir website
The Newcastle University Choir ushered in the Christmas season of “Peace on Earth” with IN TERRA PAX on Sunday 8 December at 2.00 p.m. in the Great Hall at the University of Newcastle. This program of beautiful choral music as well as popular carols and Christmas songs was enthusiastically received by the audience. We were joined by rising stars soprano Michelle Ryan and baritone Nicholas Geddes accompanied by a string orchestra, organ, piano and percussion. The Samaritans choir shared their joy with Christmas songs prepared by Peter Guy.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE to Choir Members and public
In the light of government recommendations for containment of the COVID-19 virus, the committee has decided to cancel the May concert and suspend rehearsals until further notice. This is a very sad step to take, but we believe it is a responsible one that considers the health of our members, their families and our audiences.
We still have to make decisions about revised concert dates and programs, but this could take some time. We will not collect the music you currently have, but please take care of it and keep learning, because we will schedule it eventually.
Please take care and keep singing in the shower!
