‘You, Me and the Wide Open Sky’ will be a concert focusing on the unique sound-scape of Australian music.  In the last 30 years, Australian choral composers have found a descriptive style which reflects our vast continent.  Our landscapes, our flora and fauna and our people are all part of the rich musical landscape they have created.  This concert will showcase works by well known Australian composers such as Ian Grandage, Dan Walker & Michael Atherton with an arrangement of ‘Waltzing Matilda’  by Ruth McCall.  In addition, the choir will be thrilled to present a new commission by celebrated composer Elena Kats-Chernin  – something we are really looking forward to singing!.  Our special guest will be flautist Sally Walker, who will play works by Whitwell, Kats-Chernin and others. This promises to be an exciting concert and one that shouldn’t be missed.
